POWERFUL Anakie-based trainer Andrea Dailly has just experienced an amazing month.
Not only was she crowned 2020-21 Victorian Metropolitan Trainer of the Year, her now-retired kennel star Shima Shine won both the Victorian Greyhound of the Year and Sprinter of the Year awards.
Securing the Metrop gong has become somewhat of an \’annual ritual\’ for Dailly as it\’s her fourth in succession as training representative for Team Dailly.
She topped the metro leader-board with another stellar racing season.
From a total of 1109 metropolitan runners, she notched 175 wins (15.77%), 161 seconds (14.51%) and 155 thirds (13.97%) and is heading for another title in the current season.
And to top off a stunning month, Dailly rugged up a big winning six at The Meadows, had a five-win haul at Ballarat, another five at The Meadows and a treble at Ballarat.
Her six-win haul at The Meadows comprised Zippy Tesla ($11), Kanji Giant ($1.60 fav), Lalla Kiwi ($3.40), Daph\’s Ascend $4.50, Gypsy Wyong ($4.90) and Gypsy Bun ($2.20 fav).
Lara trainer Craig Treherne had a fabulous day at Warrnambool early last month.
He arrived at the track with eight runners and left with five wins, a third and two fourths.
His winners were Ripper Roxy ($6.60), Saint Jett ($10.60), Gleaming ($6), Konta ($1.80 fav) and Gamblin\’ Ways ($3).
Mount Gambier trainer Tracie Price also landed a \’fiver\’ at his home track as well as a quartet of winners later in the month.
Price\’s five included Golden Lester ($7), Attuned ($2.15 fav), Way Out ($1.90 fav), Urana Meat Loaf ($3.20) and Compton Ruby ($21).
A group of trainers across the country rugged up winning fours – Darwin\’s Steele Bolton and WA\’s David Hobby achieving the feat twice, while the man from Nambeelup also landed three winning trebles and as did Bolton.
Others with \’big fours\’ were Evelyn Harris (at Grafton), Jason Thompson (Ballarat), Anthony Azzopardi (Geelong), Keith Boan (Lismore), Therese Simmons (Richmond) and Andrew Wooler (Townsville).
Boan admitted after his success at Lismore that is was a \’good night\’.
The veteran\’s winners all hailed from the same Fernando Bale-Lady Olivia litter.
\”That\’s the third lot of four winners we\’ve had in the past couple of months,\” he said.
Meanwhile, the Lords – Anthony and Jodie – landed four winners, a double each, at Nowra.
