BUNDY on a Mundy is all go!

\"\"

Howie (aka Cambla Kid), may not have been a champion on the track, but he could always sniff out a yarn. Now retired, each month Howie hunts up morsels of news from  his beloved Bundaberg club. Here’s his latest offering.

As we inch closer to impending track closure for upgrading and new race distances, the race is on for Dog of the Year.

Fogelberg is still in the lead but has shown recently he\’s beatable with Unencumbered right on his heels … truly an exciting year with race times still very quick.

Recently I noticed on Facebook a lady looking for others to walk her retired greyhound with and what a response.

There is a lovely group of well-trained humans that walk with their retired/rehomed greys often seen at Bargara beach and other walking trails.

These dogs are often seen with very fancy collars and accessories – a lovely way to keep their owners healthy and a great way to reminisce on past racing stories and sniff.

Interesting and heart-warming to see most Mondays at Bundy the group that comes to watch from the Endeavour Foundation.

Their carers tell us they love coming to watch the dogs, have lunch and a cuppa and it\’s usually talked about until the next Monday comes around. We love to see them too, such big smiles and personalities.

This month we see the AGM for Bundy and we would like to thank all who have served on the committee this year.

It has certainly been exciting and, with COVID, sometimes trying year, but we are coming out bigger and better.

We have definitely noticed a varied crowd since going TAB and despite racing on Mondays public support has been encouraging, especially in the holidays.

We are so excited to start and finish our refurbishment so we can once again show off our beautiful track and facilities.

Yours in racing spirit

Howie (AKA Cambla Kid)
