Phone nominations discontinued at the end of the month

RQ reminds stakeholders that December is the final month of phone nominations before online nominating becomes compulsory for all Queensland greyhound meetings.

We now have most trainers nominating online. However, we still have some trainers who have not attempted online nominating. RQ urges trainers to get this done as soon as possible to ensure they are accustomed to the OzChase system come the new year. RQ will provide support to trainers who require assistance using the system and a user guide will be provided to the industry, which can be referred to at any time.

If you do not currently have an OzChase online nominations account or you require help with setting up your account, please email grading@racingqueensland.com.au or call 1800851155.

Upcoming feature racing

The Golden Greys Summer carnival will get underway with the Queensland Flame, sending a Queensland trained greyhound into the $1.1m TAB Phoenix at the Meadows. The heats of the Group 2 Bogie Leigh Futurity (Bitches) and the Group 2 Queensland Derby (dogs) will be run on Thursday 9 December 2021, with both finals to be run the following Thursday 16 December, worth $60,000 each. Both events are opened to greyhounds whelped on or after the 1 June 2019.

On Futurity and Derby final night, Albion Park will also host heats of the Christmas Stocking for Grade 5 greyhounds, and heats of the Middle Distance Challenge, open to all greyhounds. Both finals will be run on Thursday 23 December, each worth $12,600.

As the year comes to a close, the carnival starts to heat up with heats of the Group 2 Golden Sands Open 600m, and the Golden Oldies Masters 5th Grade heats 520m. Both finals will be run on 6 January 2022, with the Golden Sands worth $60,000 and the Golden Oldies worth $12,600.
