Racing Queensland advises that phone nominations will be discontinued for all Queensland greyhound race meetings from January 1, 2022.
Trainers will be required to nominate online via OzChase which can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days per week with internet connection.
The OzChase system provides a fast and convenient way for trainers to nominate and scratch greyhounds, as well as view their greyhounds’ grades, add multiple nomination preferences, and view the greyhounds they currently have drawn.
Online nominations via Ozchase have been available since 2014, however 40% of nominations for Queensland greyhound meetings are still taken over the phone.
Due to the slow progress towards complete online nominations, and the increased workload of RQ employees to grade additional race meetings, RQ is implementing this change to modernise operating practices and make business process more efficient.
RQ understands that some stakeholders may be apprehensive about this change.
RQ employees will provide extensive assistance to those that are not set up with an Ozchase account during the next five months to ensure that all trainers can nominate and scratch their greyhounds online before the January 1, 2022, deadline.
The first step is to create an Ozchase account. If you do not have an Ozchase account, please contact RQ as soon as possible.
The second step is to become familiar with using Ozchase system.
Stakeholders will be issued with a User Guide which provides step-by-step instructions how to use the Ozchase system.
RQ employees will also be available by phone to provide step-by-step assistance.
For all enquiries regarding online nominations, please contact RQ via email at grading@racingqueensland.com.au, or call 07 3869 9776.
Phone nominations will continue to be accepted until January 1, 2022; however, RQ encourages all trainers to make the change to online nominations as soon as possible.
From January 1, 2022, RQ employees will not nominate any greyhounds.
The 1800 851 155 phoneline (current nominations line) will be converted to a grading enquiries line, and a helpline for technical difficulties with Ozchase.
