QUEENSLAND’S Golden Greys Summer Carnival is about to explode into a spectacular crescendo.

All eyes will be on Albion Park on Thursday, February 3, when the lids fly on the $300,000 Group 1 Gold Bullion.

As the February edition of Chase was first hitting the streets across Australia the heats of this classic were being run and won. However, one starter in the final was already known.

Under the Gold Bullion’s unique concept, the northern NSW-trained Kooringa Lucy, (pictured above) sealed her spot at the ‘Big Dance’ when she won the $60,000 Group 3 Golden Ticket at Albion Park on January 20.

The Golden Ticket comprised four two-dog match races, with the winner determined by the fastest overall winning time.

Plenty of big names are set to join her for a chance to be etched on the honour board of one of Australasian greyhound racing’s most sought-after crowns – the last two winners were Sennachie (2020) and Shima Shine (2021).
