Nomination Deadline changing to 9am:
Racing Queensland advises stakeholders that the nomination deadline for all Queensland greyhound race meetings will be changed to 9am from 1 May 2022. Trainers can nominate 24/7 via the OzChase portal and are encouraged to nominate in advance when possible.
Rockhampton Cup Carnival:
The Rockhampton Cup Carnival gets underway in April, with the final of the Rockhampton Wildcard series on 6 April 2022.
The Wildcard is a new series worth $25,000 total prizemoney which provides an opportunity for a local greyhound to book its place in the Group 3 Rockhampton Cup Final.
The Rockhampton Cup heats will be run on Friday 22 April, with the final on Friday 29 April 2022.
Total prizemoney for the Rockhampton Cup final has been increased to $60,000.
Ipswich 40th Anniversary:
The Ipswich Greyhound Club celebrates 40 years in April 2022 and a special race called the Ipswich 40th Anniversary Trophy (520m) will mark the occasion.
The race will be held on 16 April 2022 and will be worth total prizemoney of $25,000. The race is open to all greyhounds that have started at the track and distance at least once since 16 April 2021.
The order of entry for the event is by the fastest run times at the track and distance since 16 April 2021. The nominations for this race close on Friday 8 April 2021 at 9.30am and the field will be announced on the same day.
