Surge in greyhound adoptions

\"\"

The Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) has seen a surge in greyhound adoptions as an unexpected outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The increase in workers spending more time at home has led to more adoptions and the results of a recent social media campaign has seen more greyhound adoption applications than expected during the period.

The QRIC GAP informed Industry participants last month that it planned to reduce the greyhound intake numbers into the program, but in a change of plan, the GAP will now return to normal intake numbers.

As is usual, there are 13 positions available for greyhounds to enter into GAP at the Churchable SEQ headquarters each fortnight and SEQ intake days this month are 12 and 26 May.

Intake forms are available on the GAP website www:gapqld.com.au/forms-guides/intake-form/or contact 1300 087 021 and an intake form can be posted to the industry participant.

If you have any questions, please contact the GAP team on 1300 087 021 or gap@qric.qld.gov.au
