THE Casino Greyhound Racing Club recently paid tribute to the outstanding contribution Jack and Carol Somerville have made to the racing industry since 1968.

The club hosted an appreciation day with the Jack & Carol Somerville Apprecition Stakes (300m) taken out by the Charlie Northfield-trained Kingsbrae Anna.

Jack was one of the original Committee members at the Lismore Turf Club at the age of 21 and his service to the industry was all done on a voluntary basis until 1980 when he was given an allowance of $20.

Over the years Jack and Carol have many fond memories and friends that will last a lifetime.

Jack and Carol were surrounded by family and friends at the Casino meeting and the club wishes them the best in retirement and look forward to seeing them ‘around the traps’.
