DAVID BRASCH gives his thoughts on some of the lots at the Ipswich Puppy Auction.

THE Ipswich Puppy Auction catalogue never fails to toss up some outstanding bloodlines, offspring of proven broodbitches, high-class race performers and an abundance of ‘bargains’ for astute buyers.

The likely sale toppers could come from a handful of litters.

The standout could be the Fernando Bale-Sequana (Zambora Brockie-Lilly Sur Seine) pups. They are truly bred in the purple. Their sire is already a breeding legend, but the mother Sequana won 26 races and $144,000, running 29.64s and 34.60s at Albion Park.

She came from a wonderful litter, stems from a hugely successful direct damline and there were few better race bitches during her time.

Likely to test that litter to top the sale are the Fernando Bale-Zipping Cosmo (My Bro Fabio-Zipping Meg) offerings.

Zipping Cosmo won the G2 Qld Futurity and a Young Guns at Albion Park, was second in the Ipswich Futurity and a finalist in the G3 Dillon Memorial. She was a class act. This is her first litter and the pups carry that very successful Fernando Bale/My Bro Fabio cross.

The success of Super Estrella in the recent G1 National Distance Championship and then a track record-breaking performance a week later, highlights the litter by Superior Panama-China O’Brien for sale at Ipswich.

China O’Brien (My Bro Fabio-Esparza) is from the same family and won five races and $35,000.

She was a Group class stayer herself. Her pups will be in demand for sure.

Another smart staying bitch with pups for sale is Slick Raven (My Bro Fabio-Raven Pearl).

She won five races and $32,000, but most notably was a winner over 700m at Wentworth Park and Albion Park, and a finalist in the G1 Bold Trease.

She has pups for sale by Orson Allen.

Her first litter to Fernando Bale have just started racing and already five of the six youngsters to hit the track have won.

Aussie Infrared is a highly proven stud dog. His litter out of Tipsy Four (My Bro Fabio-Bonnie’s Dream) are certain to sell well.

The mother broke a track record at Townsville and ran third in the G3 Townsville Cup while winning 18 races and $62,000. She was placed no fewer than 45 times during a long and successful race career.

The mating to Aussie Infrared brings in a highly proven cross found in most of Aussie’s best progeny.

While writing about prolific winners and success stories on the track, that certainly describes Split Sound (Dyna Lachlan-Split System), who has pups by Sennachie for sale at the auction.

Split Sound really was a trojan, winning 13 races and $73,000 from 331m to 710m and being placed 49 times.

This is the Fernando Bale/Dyna Lachlan cross found in Group stars like Hecton Bale and Fernando Blaster.

The direct damline of Marseille (Kinloch Brae-Embellish) has been around for ages.

Marseille won five races and $30,000, but she was better than that appears. She ran second in the Brett Memorial and was a finalist in the G2 Golden Sands.

She has pups in the auction by Mepunga Blazer and this is the highly successful cross of Blazer over a daughter of Kinloch Brae that is responsible for three litters, all of them with Group performers in them.

Marseille was a smart 600m winner at Albion Park.

Everyone will remember the remarkable performance of Hard Style Rico to win the G1 Melbourne Cup and smash the Sandown track record when doing it.

His litter sister Riccolina Girl (Bella Infrared-Bella Rico) has pups by Shima Shine in the auction.

Riccolina Girl won 12 races and $38,000 in stakes and was a pretty smart race bitch.

Her litter by Barcia Bale is already showing promise on the track.

If proven crosses are your thing, the Fernando Bale-Fi Fi Rumble litter for sale will be right up your alley.

That’s because it is a virtual repeat of the mating that produced Group star Louis Rumble (28 wins, $249,000) and his Vince Curry Maiden-winning brother Rumble Ranger.

Fi Fi Rumble is a Cosmic Rumble-Dulcinea litter sister to Joyce Rumble, the dam of Louis Rumble. Another sister, Cindy Rumble, produced Dulceria (17 wins, $157,000), the Townsville and Rocky Cup winner.

Fi Fi Rumble won three races in a career cut short, but she was an Albion Park winner.
