The Launceston Greyhound Racing Club (LGRC) has announced new naming rights sponsors for the 2020 Tasmanian Derby and Tasmanian Oaks.

The respective $5,030 to-the-winner finals, each to be run on Monday, October 5, will be known as the Greyhound-Data Tasmanian Derby and Sires On Ice Tasmanian Oaks.

The LGRC acknowledges the challenges that COVID-19 has caused for many businesses and understands this has impacted sponsorship deals.

The LGRC wishes to thank Rapidvite (Derby) and Jet Pets (Oaks) for their previous sponsorship of these feature races which have been run in the state for over 40 years.

Greyhound-Data provide information about greyhounds from all over the world with pedigree information drawn from the last four centuries.

Online they have 4,560,882 race results and 2,337,066 greyhound pedigrees.

Sires on Ice is an independent, privately owned company, specialising in providing a complete Stud Dog management system.

When it comes to their team of greyhound stud dogs, they not only exclusively have some of the leading sires in Australia, but also have frozen semen of some of the champions of yesteryear.

Sires on Ice is recognised as a world leader in its field.

The LGRC looks forward to a successful partnership with both companies that have supported these classic races and want to specifically mention Tony Gallagher of Greyhound-Data and Tony Wiseman of Sires on Ice for their work in finalising these sponsorship deals.
