ALL-conquering stayer Miata, trained in Perth by Paul Stuart, wins the Gr 1 Association Cup at Wentworth Park by three lengths. He’s My Future and Shimaguni were the placegetters.

DON’T KNOCKA HIM for Jason Thompson wins the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park in 29.60. Dyna Bert and Desalle Bale were the placegetters.

PEGGY MAY, also trained by Jason Thompson,, wins the Gr 2 Bendigo Cup for a $40,000 first prize. Dyna Tron was second and Classy Maldini third.

TWENTY YEARS AGO – APRIL 2002:

Yo Yo’s Gem for Neil Thompson wins the Gabba Lord Mayor’s Cup. First prize is $4200.

BRISBANE Club secretary/manager Bob Lambert announces his retirement. His replacement is confirmed as the club’s accountant Alan Henderson.

MODERN ASSASSIN for Mary Mugavin-Brown wins the Gr 1 Perth Cup, worth $50,000 to the winner. It was a narrow win over Omastar and Ultimate Rebel.

THIRTY YEARS AGO – APRIL 1992:

ULTRAVANA, trained by Sam Apap and Lenore Beaton, wins the Gabba 20th Anniversary Trophy in 32.74. First prize is $10,000.

ELUSIVE ODIE for Tony Zammit wins the Gr 2 Gabba Gold Cup for $37,500. She ran a very fast time of 41.37 for the 704-metres course.

JESSICA CASEY for John Finn takes out the third running of the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park. The bitch romped home by three lengths to claim the $80,000 winner’s cheque. South Road Sid and Call Me Casey filled the placings.
