WINSOME DOLLARS for John Finn wins the Group 2 Bob Payne Winter Stake and Group 3 Young Star Classic at Wentworth Park in the same month.

GABBA – G.R.C. reported a financial year profit of $67,291, considered a decent result at the time. On-course tote turnover increased by 1.5% over the previous year.
WALLOWA FLASH for Margaret Quarrell was a $4 chance from box five for the Gold Coast Cup over 457 metres. The home-bred son of Acacia Park and Flash a Coin scored narrowly over outsiders Night Merinda and Gourie. The even money ($2.00) favourite Mountain Red finished seventh.
YOUR ATTENTION for Colin Rogers won the Queensland Constellation at the Gabba. The odds-on favourite scored by eight lengths from box three in a scorching time of 32.43. Hopeful Doll held the track record at 32.31.
