Each month Chase will highlight the story behind Queensland’s most recent complete monthly breeding statistics: August, 2021

PROVEN matrons, high class race bitches … that’s the theme of the latest whelpings listing in Queensland in August.
John Hutchinson’s grand bitch Amber Marie (Oaks Road-Red Rum), the winner of 22 races, $95,000 and a top grade performer at Albion Park most of her career, has whelped a litter of four dogs and three bitches by champ Barcia Bale.
Amber Marie had a powerfully in-bred pedigree 2×2 to the virtual sister and brother combination Leprechaun Pace and Trewly Special. It augurs well for success at stud.
Bobby Cooke’s proven producer Cashpot has whelped a dog and four bitches by newcomer sire Flying Ricciardo.
Cashpot (Smooth Fancy-Teddy’s Jackpot) is the mother of track star Cash View, the Grafton track record holder, Brett Memorial winner and multiple Group finalist.
Kisses For Cloda (Worm Burner-Sidney’s Shadow) has whelped five dogs and four bitches to Orson Allen.
A member of an outstanding litter, Kisses For Cloda won the G3 SA Oaks and was a finalist in the Gawler Gold Cup.
Her mother, Sidney’s Shadow, was SA-bred Greyhound of the Year and is bred on the same Mogambo/Collision cross as superstars Feral Franky and Good Odds Harada.
Noel Murdoch’s Cha Cha Gem (Mocha Shocker-Let’s Cha Cha) won 16 races and $42,000 in her race career and she has whelped four dogs and four bitches by Sennachie.
Col Fry’s Cosmic Capers is a proven producer, which was understandable considering she won the Eric Thomson Maiden and made the final of the Ipswich Cup.
The daughter of Cosmic Rumble-Kelly Charm has produced a litter by Keybow which includes Cosmic Colin (19 wins, $36,000) and Moustache (17 wins, $26,000).
She has whelped five dogs and four bitches by Bernardo.
Jeff and Jane Crawford like to keep things simple. They mated their own bitch, One El (Dyna Double One-El Bonito) to their G1 Hobart 1000 winner and Capalaba record holder Leeroy Rogue and got five dogs and three bitches.
One El could run, winning 16 races and $46,000. She too came from a quality litter.
The great race bitch Snug (Fabregas-Befitting) has whelped six dogs by Fernando Bale.
Snug was something special winning 19 races and $83,000 and coming from a litter that also included Fab Fit (20 wins, $116,000) and Fab Dooley (12 wins, $44,000) etc.
Snug was a feature race winner and Group 1 class on the track.
Gold Coasty Cup finalist Wheatacre (Velocette-Clair Vision) won 21 races and $55,000. She has whelped a litter of seven dogs and two bitches by Tommy Shelby.
