For most NSW-based greyhound trainers, when asked the question: Which track would you love to win a race at? The answer is Wentworth Park.

During the month of November a plethora of participants chalked up their inaugural victories at Glebe circuit.

The most recent addition to the winner’s list was 26-year-old, Orange-based trainer, Tyler Ginn, who was understandably on cloud nine after his ultra-consistent performer, Coin Counter, made it four wins from five appearances.

The daughter of Aussie Infrared and You Tell Me, owned by the Salubrious Syndicate, managed by fellow young participant, Cameron Hallinan, was brilliant from box six, carving out a time of 30.11 for the 520m journey.

While Ginn was excitedly watching at home, Hall of Fame inductee, Martin Hallinan, managed the handling duties.

“I’m just that happy,” said Ginn post-race.

“I’ve watched the replay so many times, I can’t believe it.”

There was no happier man at Wentworth Park on the first Saturday in November than trainer, David Lewis, with his stalwart chaser, Our Mechanic, delivering the Kangy Angy-based mentor his first metropolitan victory.

Lewis had to wait until the final race, however it was certainly worth the wait, with a flurry of fist pumps towards the sky.

Our Mechanic, a previous G2 Maitland Cup finalist, has struck a consistent purple patch of form in recent outings, only unplaced once from his past six appearances.

Hunter Valley conditioner, Michelle Johnson, celebrated the opening of her Wentworth Park win account, with Winlock Way Out saluting in a 5th grade final event over the 520m, while on the same night, Tapitallee-based trainer, Penny Hutchinson joined the Wenty winner’s list with talented chaser, War Hawk, also scoring over the 520m journey.

Not only was the spotlight shone brightly on first-time trainers at the Glebe circuit, but the trend of young handler’s notching up their first successful appearance also continued.

Fifteen-year-old Elle Maguire is not only handling, but part-time training gifted youngster, See You Robbo, while her grandmother Eileen is ill in hospital.

Elle stepped out onto the track, with her charge exiting from box two and produced a brilliant come-from-behind performance to salute in a time of 30.09.

To cap off a fantastic night for the family, it was Eileen’s first winner at the track since 2020, which just so happened to be the dam of See You Robbo, Hello Robbo.
