Qld scratching procedures

\"\"

Racing Queensland would like to remind stakeholders of correct procedures for scratching a greyhound.

We encourage trainers to scratch greyhounds via the OzChase portal. If this is not possible, trainers can call 07 3869 9759.

The phone line will provide stakeholders with two options.

Option 1: Late scratchings during business hours (Monday to Friday 7am until 4pm). Note: If you have a late scratching outside of these times, please contact the relevant club.

Option 2: For all on time scratchings.

If your call is not answered, we please ask that you leave a detailed voicemail message regarding the scratching. When scratching a greyhound via OzChase online, we ask that trainers please provide a detailed description of the reason for scratching. For example, offside front leg or nearside hip. Simply writing ‘sore leg’ or ‘injured’ is not sufficient.

We ask that trainers do not use the 1800 nominations number to scratch greyhounds.

Scratchings close with Racing Queensland at 8.30am on the day of the race meeting except:

  • Capalaba Wednesday closes at 8.30am on Tuesday morning
  • Townsville Friday closes at 8.30am on Thursday morning
  • Townsville Saturday closes at 8.30am on Friday morning
  • Capalaba Sunday closes at 8.30am on Saturday morning
  • Bundaberg Monday closes at 8.30am on Sunday morning

National Straight Track Championships Postponed

The 2021 TAB National Straight Track Championship (NSTC) has been postponed due to the current impact of COVID-19.

The Queensland Straight Track Championship will proceed with heats on August 1, and the final worth $5000 to the winner on August 8. The Queensland Straight Track Championship will carry the same entry conditions as the NSTC but will NOT be a qualifying event for the postponed NSTC.

New dates for the state qualifiers and the NSTC final at Capalaba will be announced as soon as possible.
